    what states that you know of is this legal? and how do i go about finding out.

    Sorry powerlide, this is way too broad a question to answer on its face. Each state is different, each state's poker laws are different, states that issue licenses for cardrooms have different criteria and regulations, in some states there are loopholes which if followed mean a license isnt required, and in some states a cardroom is a a clearly illegal enterprise under any circumstances....

    Over at the "Ask Skallagrim" forum (http://pokerplayersalliance.org/forums/forum/55) I hope to eventually have a thread for each of the 50 states with respect to their specific laws as they affect poker and poker players. But that is a project I expect to take a fair bit of time. Why dont you start by browsing there and then if the state you are interested in is not covered, start a thread for that state.
