Well the people of Florida voted and defeated Tom Feeney and Rick Keller. I'm Sure not many voters did it as a vote for poker but the results are the same. After the state inaguration takes place be sure to tell your newly elected officials that you want to see online poker returned as a right.

John Russell is running against Ginny Brown-Waite in FL's 5th district. Mrs. Waite is very much against our rights to play poker online, so I sent an email to her opponent asking for his stance on internet gambling/poker. His response was mostly positive and is as follows:

"....I do not currently have a position outlined on the subject but I would lean toward some manner of maintaining your freedom. I want to maintain the current level of freedom as to the use and operability of the internet overall without infringement on this very important and perhaps last vestige of truly open communication. Thanks, John R. Hope this helps ."

I would love to see Ginny Brown-Waite lose her seat. I'm not sure where the polls stand atm, but if you live in or around this district spread the word on the positive response from John Russell.

I have not been the most active member nor have I been the most active politically until I started to pay attention to the politicians that are trying to take away my rights to play poker. Congressman Feeney and Keller are two of our biggest opponents and are actively trying to take away our ability to play online poker. That’s why I’m working to help elect Congress people that will protect mine and your rights to play poker! Aren’t there bigger things in the world to worry about then honest people playing a few hands of poker now and then? How about catching Osama bin Laden? Or making sure that the corrupt Wall Street boys don’t keep getting our hard earned money? Come on!

Suzanne Kosmas and Alan Grayson are two congressional hopefuls that are PRO poker-PRO our rights to play poker and don’t want to infringe on our way of life!!!! Those are the kind of politicians that we need not ones like Feeney or Keller who are in the pockets of high powered lobbyists and Wall Street crooks!!

I have the attention of Suzanne Kosmas who is running against Tom Feeney & hoping to hear back from her ASAP with her stance. I'll be sure to post it & if we hear good things, we can really step up the campaign for her & against Feeney.

Congressman Tom Feeney of Florida had expressed that he would be voting for HR 5767 and then voted against it, causing us to lose on a 32-32 vote. If the congressman had kept his word, we would have won 33-31. Every Florida memeber should e mail and call his office and express ( nicely please) your opposition to his vote, let him know we vote and will be following his opponents for their feelings on the PPA fight. Lets send em now!!!
Dick C.
Fl. State Director

P.S. If he responds please post to Florida forum at PPA
